Basmati Rice Exporter India — Container Load Supply
From paddy field to port — Lababdar Foods exports premium Indian basmati rice to importers and HoReCa buyers across GCC, Iran, EU, USA, UK and Africa. APEDA-registered, fully documented, container-loaded at India's principal export ports.
Indian Basmati Rice — Built for International Trade
Lababdar exports basmati rice that meets — and frequently exceeds — international quality benchmarks. Every export consignment is graded for length, moisture, broken %, foreign matter, chalkiness and aroma profile, then packed in food-grade BOPP / jute bags and stuffed under hygienic, fumigated container conditions. Our documentation team handles APEDA RCMC, phytosanitary, fumigation and country-of-origin certificates so your shipment clears destination customs without delay.
Destinations We Currently Supply
GCC — UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain
Our largest export region. Strong demand for 1121 Sella, 1121 Steam and Golden Sella basmati. Standard pack: 5 kg, 20 kg and 40 kg printed BOPP bags. Arabic-language labelling supported.
Iran
Bulk Sella basmati and Pusa Sella in 50 kg jute bags is the dominant Iran export grade. We coordinate via India-Iran rupee trade channels and accept INR-denominated LCs through designated banks.
European Union & UK
EU and UK buyers favour 1121 Steam, Pusa Steam and Traditional basmati. We support EU food information regulation labelling, lot traceability, Maximum Residue Level (MRL) testing and BRC-style audit support.
USA & Canada
North American buyers prefer USDA-compatible 1121 White and Sella grades. We supply with USDA Plant Health and FDA prior-notice compliant documentation, packed in retail-ready printed pouches.
Africa
Africa is a fast-growing region — Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa. Demand mix is 60% bulk Sella and 40% retail-pack 5 kg / 10 kg branded basmati. Mombasa and Durban are our common discharge ports.
Custom Markets
Engaged with importers in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nepal, Bhutan and the Caribbean. New-market enquiries welcome — we adapt to specific labelling, quality and certification requirements.
Container Load Economics — 20ft vs 40ft
A 20ft container typically loads 22–24 MT of basmati in 50 kg jute bags. A 40ft container typically loads 26–28 MT (volumetric limit) — but is preferred for high-value or smaller-pack shipments where stacking efficiency matters.
- FOB Mundra Port (Gujarat) — closest port for paddy from Punjab; lowest inland freight.
- FOB Pipavav (Gujarat) — competitive sea freight rates to GCC and East Africa.
- FOB Nhava Sheva (JNPT, Mumbai) — preferred for shipments to USA, EU and Latin America.
- Inland container depots (ICD) at Ludhiana, Delhi (Tughlakabad) and Sonepat for direct stuffing.
- Payment terms supported — 100% advance TT, 30% advance + 70% against BL copy, irrevocable LC at sight, and (for repeat customers) DA terms with credit insurance.
Basmati Export — Frequently Asked Questions
What documentation do you provide with each export shipment?
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin (DGFT), APEDA RCMC, phytosanitary certificate (Plant Quarantine), fumigation certificate, weight & quality certificate from independent surveyor (SGS / Intertek on request), bill of lading, and country-specific certificates such as Halal, Kosher or USDA on demand.
What is the typical lead time from order to BL?
For grades held in ready stock — 12–18 days from confirmed order to BL release. For custom-pack or destination-specific labelling — 25–35 days. Sailing time depends on destination: GCC 5–8 days, EU 18–22 days, USA East Coast 28–35 days.
Do you accept LC (Letter of Credit) payment?
Yes — irrevocable LC at sight from a first-class international bank is our preferred payment instrument for repeat exports. Our nominated negotiating bank is intimated at LC opening stage. Sample LC drafts can be reviewed before opening at no charge.
Can you arrange CIF / CFR shipments instead of FOB?
Yes — we have nominated freight forwarders for all major destinations and can quote CIF or CFR terms in addition to FOB. CIF includes ocean freight + marine insurance up to destination port.
What is your minimum export order quantity?
Minimum export consignment is 1 × 20ft container (~22 MT). For Iran shipments we run dedicated 40ft container loads (~26 MT). For trial orders we can consolidate with other client cargo on shared LCL basis — minimum 5 MT.
Do you supply Halal-certified basmati?
Yes — basmati rice is naturally Halal as it is a plant product. We can supply with formal Halal certificate from Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Halal Trust or similar accredited body if your destination requires it.
